My name is Dr. Robert Knapick and I welcome you to my website on how be happy and in control of your destiny. Happiness is learning how to take control of your life, create and manage tools to help you through difficult times and events and the development of goals that will help your reach your dreams in life. The year 2020 has shaken the foundations of our beliefs. It has caused us to be uncertain, fearful and hopeless. It i my hope that through programs, books and lectures that I present will help you establish a new set of foundations and boundaries to help you achieve success throughout the rest of your life,

A Private School for Children with Learning and Behavioral Problems (A program I created in 1990-1997)
Teen Residential Treatment Center (1997 - 2000)
Created an inpatient Rapid Response program for Medical Hospital Emergency Rooms Adults/Children (2000 - 2020)
Texas Children's Hospital Emergency Rooms (2020 - Present)
I have an Undergraduate Degree from Houston Baptist University in Psychology, Christianity and a minor in Speech.
I have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Sadona Arizona in Metaphysical Sciences
I have a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a license in Marriage and Family Therapy
I have a Ph.D.from the University of Sadona Arizona in Holistic Life Counseling
In addition to mental health, I have been a Scuba Instructor since 1984, a tour guide 1987 and a television producer for a tv show since 2005.

Choose to be Happy is my first book of many to come. I am in the process of publishing 5 more books to include: Parenting like a coach/ The Family Tune Up/ Skills for Teenagers/ How to be a better Person/ A Road to Success and Learning to prosper with Stress. I wrote this book because I believe I have something to offer persons who are challenged to deal with life’s difficulties. Stress, unhealthy relationships, unrealistic expectations, negative self-esteem, and life’s pressure of life cause our mind, body and soul to to kilter out of balance and then, our health suffers. Stress is connected to all physical and mental health complications. Given my 40 years of working with adults, teens and children, I have developed programs in schools, hospitals and my private practice that have helped individuals develop successful coping skills.Happiness is a feeling state that can be obtained if effective strategies are applied. To be successful, people must consistently work at making needed changes in their lives.My education has prepared me to contribute to helping people with replacing the sadness and discontent in their lives with happiness. My first master’s degree was in behavioral science, it was a very conservative methodology; and, my second master’s was in metaphysical science, a more liberal approach to mental health. My Ph.D. is in wholistic life coaching that combined the two degrees. As I examined each of the techniques and practices used to help turn negativity into happiness, I researched and tested the use of all of the different coping skills that had been developed. Throughout this book, I provide personal experiences and testimonials by individuals who have used these techniques.The result of my findings, proved to me that people who are dealing with negative thoughts or feelings can make changes that will put a smile on their face and enabled them to enjoy life. After counseling over 15,000 suicidal patients I treated in emergency rooms, I can say that if a person makes a commitment to refocus or make personal changes in his/her life, happiness can be achieved. they can be happy. So, its your choice, you can be happy or you can be sad. For me… I “Choose to Be Happy!”
To reach success, you need to have specific goals that allow you reach your dreams. Programs, books and lectures have been designed to help you with your journey to overcoming Stress, Anxiety and Fear. Stress, Anxiety and the Fear of the Unknown are the foundation of Failure, Disappointment and Hopelessness. Our goal is to help you create a positive attitude to life so you will achieve success in your life without or limiting your negative emotions.
Our brains are wired to our memories. For some individuals we have found memories with no worries, but as we review our memories, we are taught to look at some memories and failures and times of defeat. The amygdala is part of the limbic system, a group of structures deep in the brain that's associated with emotions such as anger, pleasure, sorrow, fear, and sexual arousal. The amygdala is activated when a person recalls emotionally charged memories, such as a frightening situation. These events can be pleasurable, fearful, happiness or abandonment. Once the amygdala is triggered by the emotions our body experiences numerous changes that effects our brain, lungs, muscles, heart, reproduction organs ands skin. This may include positive results like a feeling of calmness with a lower blood pressure or a feeling of fear which may create muscle tension. Over time words, feelings, smells, experiences, and thoughts will create thoughts and feelings of true happiness or a panic attack. It is my hope that you will become i control of your thoughts and feelings, so yo can live a life of happiness.

It's Time you enjoyed Life
Since 1980, I have been working on developing programs and techniques to help individuals develop successful cooping tools to help reach happiness and success. I am dedicated to helping people who have experienced problems and difficulties in the past that have preventing them from enjoy life. In my book "Choose to Happy!", I explain how happiness is a choice. All you have to do is rewire your brain to think in a positive manner. Though my programs you can make changes in your life to be happy or you can do nothing and life a life that is difficult and full of disappointments.
I have discovered that people are prone to negative thoughts because they have not have skills that rewire the brain and help an individual have positive thoughts with successful outcomes. I have worked on numerous settings and develop programs that are designed to make changes in a person's life.
One of my first projects was working with individuals who had lives that connected with drug dependency, depression, anxiety and social instability. For my master's thesis, I developed a program to help individuals who had not worked for several years with no stability. Through my research, I discovered that most of these individuals had unstable childhoods with poor role models. I discovered that one valuable skill they were missing was assertiveness training. My thesis utilized assertive training and social skills training to provide my experimental group with tools needed to succeed in life. Within a 4 week period all of my experimental group were gainfully employed and none of my control group had a job. This was the beginning of my journey to give individuals a bag of tools to help them reach success and happiness. With proper skills and training, individuals will develop a new found life that is positive and hopeful.
